Overview:
Sonra’s Video Manager and Dual-Timeline allows users to integrate video and tracking data in a seamless and innovative way, to provide a comprehensive insight into session events and physical demands.
Uploading MP4 file:
The first step is to attach a video to the Sonra platform.
To do this, click Attach Video, then Browse to retrieve the video on your laptop, before choosing Attach.
If the sync time is already known, enter the time. If not, proceed to manually set the sync time in the next step.
Note: the video should be in MP4 format it cannot be in .mov.
Set Video Sync Time:
The video must be synced in order to match the start time of the video with the recorded GPS data. With the correct sync time, all tagged events on the video will correspond with the correct time on the Activity Graph.
Setup:
1. Once the video is attached, click Open Video.
2. Select one player to view their Activity Graph
3. Pause the video then click Sync Video Time.
4. Once Sync Video Time is activated, click the corresponding start time on the activity graph, and click the Sync Video Time icon again to confirm.
Note: it is recommended to use a notable event (e.g. the first sprint from a specific player) to set the video sync time.
Create Tags:
Users can create their own custom tags on Video Manager to highlight and pinpoint key events from the session.
Setup:
Tags can be created on Video Manager. Navigate to the Tagging tab and click Create Tags.
The tagging options are:
- Tag name
- Keyboard shortcut (F1, F2 etc.)
- Player(s) assigned
- Tag colour
- Lead time (seconds)
- Lag time (seconds)
Note: When lead and lag time is set to 0, the tag will work on a two-click sequence. The first click turns the tag button on, specifying the start time of an instance. The second click turns the tag off, specifying the end time.
When lead and lag times are set with numbers, tags will populate the timeline instantly after a single click using the predefined lead and/or lag times.
Import XML Tags:
Multidisciplinary performance departments often use external video analysis programmes to analyse training and match events. These programmes can also be used to create event tags, which can be imported into Sonra as XML files for further analysis alongside the GPS data.
Setup:
1. Click Import Tags,
2. Select Browse to retrieve the XML file on your laptop,
3. Select Import.
4. The imported tags will appear on the tagging timeline alongside any custom tags created manually on Video Manager. The tagging timeline can be clicked on to jump to a specific event.
Dual Timeline
The Dual Timeline allows users to select either the tag or activity timeline which will move the video to the specified time.
This allows either tagged tactical events, or physical metrics (e.g. Accels, Decels, Sprints) to be selected and viewed immediately on the video.
The activity graph has the same functionality as it does under the ‘Individual Dashboard’ tab with the ability to create drills and export.
